A common question posed to insurance agents is whether or not Medicare covers wheelchair ramps. As this video shows, the answer—like most answers to insurance questions—is slightly confusing.
In most cases, Medicare will not pay for a wheelchair ramp to be installed in a house. However, if there is only one entrance and exit to the home and the wheelchair user needs a ramp to exit during an emergency, then Medicare will cover the costs of the ramp installation.
